The nursing home ministry brings the Church community and the Word of God to the people who live in the nursing home. Many of the residents are confined to wheelchairs and cannot come to Church, so we bring the Church to them!
Most nursing home residents are lonely and have few, if any visitors. Our ministry helps them to feel a sense of belonging to our parish and provides them with much needed fellowship!
We share a Communion service, complete with singing, prayer, readings, and communion. The residents look forward to Fridays, and they also help with the service. Once a month a parish priest visits with us once and says Mass.
We also visit, pray with, and bring communion to residents confined to their rooms.
We presently minister to 28 residents. The peace and joy we bring to the residents is contagious- we catch it ourselves! We each bring our unique gifts and talents to put together in a joyous celebration!
Come join us every Friday morning at 10:30am at the West Broward Care Center (7751 West Broward Blvd- next to the Shell Station)
